Johnny Carino's: Authentic Italian Cuisine in Meridian

Walked in at around 7pm and it wasn’t busy at all. Service was quick and waited around 20 minutes for the food. The classic cheese ravioli was decent, but I wasn’t really a fan of the meat sauce. Our waiter was generous and experienced. I recommend this place if you’re thinking about Italian food.

So I haven’t been to this particular restaurant for over 20 years. We’ve been seeing a commercial for for for $15.99 and decided to try it prime rib, lasagna salad or nachos and something else I already can’t remember first off I had an Italian soda which is refillable here, which was fantastic and tasty, I did order the special in my husband ordered some sort of skillet that was definitely sizzling and he loved it. A server was very nice attentive, and she took great care of us. I would definitely go again and try some other dishes. Everything looks good that I saw passed by. Oh my husband also had the soup and I tasted. It was very flavorful and delicious.

This was my first time eating in at Johnny Carino's and it won't be the last!! The place is clean and the food was spectacular!! I was greeted right away, seated right away and drinks were ordered and brought to me right away!! Fresh, warm bread from the oven and olive oil with garlic in it for dipping were delivered and it's so easy to just eat that all up and leave no room for salad and dinner. I had the authentic Italian skillet cacciatore with chicken and sausage and it was delicious!! I have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow and possibly even dinner!! I'm not sure if the take home lasagna for 5.99 is a limited special but we also picked up a couple of orders for another easy meal. There's a full bar. I finished my meal with a slice of lemon cream cake as suggested by my lovely server, Mercedes and she was right, it was so light and just the perfect way to end a delicious meal.

For the price charged you get a phenomenal amount of food. And I’m happy to confirm there was ricota in the lasagna. But, unfortunately, it’s like eating in an Italian Cracker Barrel. The food looks appetizing, but there’s hardly any flavor. It’s kind of flat. Even the blue cheese dressing on the salad seemed to be missing chunks of blue cheese.. It could be. that I’m just having an Off day so I’ll defer to the other people that have reviewed the restaurant.

We just arrived from out of town and were driving by and saw this wonderful restaurant. Mercedes was a delightfully Excellent server, raising the bar with her friendly demeanor!! We even got to see a photo of her new daughter! I can't remember when an Italian place served the dipping oil with spices already in it for the bread. The meal and atmosphere is terrific! We would definitely recommend this place for its comfortable ambience.

My girlfriend i tried this place for our monthly anniversary. Walking in, the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. We went at about 6pm and were greeted right away. As we sat down, our waitress was very prompt and friendly from the beginning. Norma, our waitress, had the kind of personality that brings a smile to your face. She was so informative with everything and made sure that we always had fresh hot bread. We ordered the Mega Family meal with Italian Nachos, Chicken Alfredo, and house salad with ranch dressing. OMG what a lot of food that was. the bread was super good and came with an oil dipping sauce but honestly, it was good even by itself. The nachos were SOOO good! Fried WON TON's with alfredo sauce, chicken, jalapenos, peppercinies , tomatoes, olives, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Never had them with Won tons before but now i don't want them any other way. the alfredo was exactly what you would expect alfredo to be, super delicious! all in all, it was an amazing experience. the food will always make me speak good of them, but the service from Norma will make me come back again and again. Thank you Norma for giving us the dining experience that will have us talking about the great food for years on end!!

The food is delicious, with good-sized portions. I ordered the classic chicken pammasion it came with a side of spaghetti & bread. Even had leftovers.

Oh my. What an amazing little spot. Not that little. Came here on a Sunday because so many restaurants had lines to get in. This place deserves to have a line but isn't back to it here yet. Not sure what it is. Maybe that person who didn't want cold wine and had to have a happy hour. Sheesh. This place earned the 5 stars. Amazing food and such a bright spot in our day today. Started off with some absolutely perfect warm fresh bread and oil and spices to dip. I had flashbacks to a little Italian restaurant in Boston. Mmmmmm. Amazing. I ordered the lasagna and it was really the best I have had In decades. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I ate it before I could share with my family. Oooops. My wife got the shrimp scampi like she orders at the OG. (Not the original gangsta but that other Italian) and this was FAR better. She doesn't eat as fast so I was able to try hers. It was awesome. My son had the pizza. BBQ chicken with pepperoni is. Best he has had. We have leftovers in the fridge back at the townhouse and we are planning to throw it all out and take these leftovers home and eat later. The portions here are large. Love it. We will be back. You gotta try it. AND you don't have to stand outside in the cold and wait for that Texas place to allow you in.
